  4. Avilar WebMentor http://www.avilar.com Says it is an LMS and seems to be more oriented to business as a cost-effective (low-cost) solution.
  5. Blackboard http://www.blackboard.com/us/  One of the two biggest along with WebCT. It purchased Prometheus in 2003 and WebCT in 2005 making it the dominant commercial educational LMS.  Academic Suite 8 released Feb. 2008.  Blackboard patented part of its technology in 2007 and successfully sued Desire2Learn in 2008.  Blackboard and the US Patent Office should be censured and boycotted for this clearly wrong and predatory initiative.  Blackboard also purchased Angel Learning in May, 2009 shrinking the educational LMS even further.

IBS/Learnware HyperMethod eLearning Server (IBS - http://www.ibs-company.com/, Learnware Company Limited - http://www.learnware.ru/).  IBS is a large Russian IT company which purchased Learnware in March, 2008.  The Learnware website is mostly in Russian.  On the IBS website, eLearning Server is described as a distance learning system.  They also offer an authoring system called eAuthor CBT, a module for building assessments called Assessment Tools and an LCMS called eLearning CMS.  They appear to cater to the Russian market.

  47. WebBoard (http://www.webboard.com/) primarily a collaborative communication tool for threaded discussions, email discussions, chat rooms, IM, RSS, calendar, whiteboard, blogging, etc. Also called a class management system.
